Holiday Tea

I have never experienced the CVC tradition of the women's holiday tea... i've always been out of the country on a missions trip. Last night I got a sneek peek into the tea preparation frenzy! I walked into the atrium in awe of all the glitter, christmas and fall decor, and women running around in "decorating mode."

Cars seemed to be lined up outside the entry way for miles... women unloading china, silverwear, fru fru things i've never seen before. It was crazy. ANYWAYS, just wanted to say that i'm excited for my first Holiday Tea tonight! I saw some previews of some pretty amazing tables...

Back to the Best Friend Question...

My friend Natalie wrote an awesome blog around the earlier blog post about best friends. I love that she is so open, honest, and real. If you want to read about what she things about best friends, I want to encourage you to check out her blog:

Live Authentic

At our last Wednesday night class in the Significant Woman study, someone brought up the great question, "How do live authentically?" Its a great question because we KNOW we are supposed to live that way as Christians, but when you actually think about the question the answers aren't always the most obvious. I think its the little things we do each day that make us authentic or not.

At a bible study that I go to at Kathy Strandquist's house this topic came up, and I thought I'd share some of the points that we discussed on how to live an authentic life:
1. Actions match words and words match actions
2. Don't hide when you mess up
3. Be vulnerable
4. Be honest and confess when you haven't been honest
5. Honesty in all things
6. Be real- not pseudo
7. Be honest when you aren't feeling great but let them know you are trying your best to show humanness
8. Be honest about flaws
There seems to be a common theme... honesty and being real and open with people. Does this mean you have an excuse to whine and complain to everyone you see about your bad day? Nope. But it does give you the freedom to let those close to you into your life and let them love you for who you are... and you for them too.

How are you living authentically? What are some other ways to be authentic?
Hope you have a great Monday!
